1. Booking & Deposits

To secure your spot on any Birds & Coffee expedition, a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total tour price is required. The remaining balance constitutes the final payment and is due 90 days prior to the expedition start date. If the balance is not paid by the due date, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled.

2. Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair while covering the logistical commitments we make to our local partners:

  • More than 90 days before departure: Deposit is forfeited.
  • 60-89 days before departure: 50% of the total trip cost is refundable.
  • Fewer than 60 days before departure: No refunds can be issued.

We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and delays.

3. Health & Fitness

Our expeditions often involve walking on uneven terrain, high humidity, and early starts. Participants should be in good general health. Specifically for high-altitude expeditions (like Nevado del Ruiz), please consult your physician regarding potential altitude sickness.

4. Liability

Birds & Coffee acts as an agent for the transport companies, hotels, and other contractors. We accept no liability for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity which may be occasioned by reason of any defect in any vehicle, or through the acts or defaults of any company or person engaged in conveying the passenger or in carrying out the arrangements of the tour.

5. Itinerary Changes

Nature is unpredictable. While we adhere to the itinerary as closely as possible, Birds & Coffee reserves the right to alter the itinerary due to weather, safety concerns, or political situations. In such cases, we will always strive to provide a comparable birding experience.
